About Me

Software Developer Data Scientist AI/ML Engineer Entrepreneur

I'm a software developer at metricHEALTH Solutions in Barrie, Ontario, where I build FHIR-integrated data systems for clinical workflows. The team I work with received the City of Barrie Mayor's Award for Research and Innovation in 2024.

A line I keep close: Ad astra per aspera, "a rough road leads to the stars." The work I find most rewarding is the kind where the answer isn't clean, which is part of why physics and healthcare data both stuck.

My path started with a degree in physics and math at the University of Mumbai, then moved through two postgraduate certificates at Georgian College in Big Data Analytics and AI Design and Implementation. The clearest lesson came from running technology programs at the Barrie Public Library, where teaching emerging tools to the public shaped how I think about whether a system works for the person on the other side of the screen.

Outside production work, I have two research papers in preparation: an interpretability audit of a LightGBM stellar spectral classifier on Gaia-ESO Survey UVES data, with a causal masked-line ablation against physically diagnostic absorption features, and a paired-data study comparing structured-FHIR retrieval against LLM-narrative retrieval for specialty-medication question answering. Both are heading toward arXiv.

I sit on the Ontario Public Library Association's Research and Evaluation Committee, where I helped design and present a province-wide psychological safety survey, with 1,100 plus responses across 60 plus library systems, at the OLA Super Conference. I served on the board of Firebird Community Cycle from September 2022 to March 2026, working on grants, point-of-sale procurement, and the Bike ReCycle program with the City of Barrie.

What I do, in one paragraph

Software developer at metricHEALTH Solutions in Barrie, Ontario, working on clinical data pipelines, FHIR integrations, automated test infrastructure, and production MLOps for healthcare reporting. Background in physics and mathematics, with two postgraduate certificates from Georgian College in Big Data Analytics and AI Design and Implementation. Two research papers in preparation: interpretability of a LightGBM stellar spectral classifier on Gaia-ESO Survey UVES data, and a paired-data RAG study on structured FHIR versus LLM-narrative retrieval for clinical question answering. Outside metricHEALTH, I serve as a Library Associate at Barrie Public Library and contribute to the Ontario Public Library Association's Research and Evaluation Committee, where I helped present results from the OPLA Employee Psychological Safety Survey at the OLA Super Conference. I served on the board of Firebird Community Cycle from September 2022 to March 2026. The metricHEALTH team I work with received the City of Barrie's Mayor's Award for Research and Innovation.
